PACHECA VALE ABRAÃO RED 2021 Grape Varieties Touriga Francesa 70% and Touriga Nacional 30% Harvest 2021 Alcohol by volume 14% Appellation Douro DOC, Portugal Tasting Notes Red wine with a deep ruby colour. Elegant aroma of black fruit wrapped in notes of graphite and menthol. On the palate, it is intense and refined, showing the evolution of prolonged ageing in oak. Fresh, with well-defined acidity and tannins that are present yet supple. Great volume and complexity, with a very long and persistent finish. Food Pairing Pairs well with a wide range of traditional Portuguese dishes. Grilled and/or roasted red meats. Soft cheeses. Vinification Crushing and destemming of the grapes. Fermentation in stainless steel tanks at a temperature of 25 °C, with periodic pump-overs to enhance the extraction of phenolic compounds. Co-inoculation of fermentation yeasts and lactic acid bacteria, allowing simultaneous completion of alcoholic and malolactic fermentation. Post-fermentation maceration for three weeks. Barrel Aging Aged for 18 months in 7,000-litre used French oak vats. Winemaker Maria de Serpa Pimentel and João Silva e Sousa TECHNICAL SHEETS 2021 2020 2019 Contains sulfites.
