Hamilton Rutledge C-1940’s Wonderful Condition! A very rare find! This late 1940’s Rutledge is an all original, untouched version of a RARE Platinum Hamilton. The curved Platinum case measures 36mm from lug tip to lug tip and 22mm across without the crown. It shows some very minor signs of use but is in overall very good condition. The case is Hamilton signed and marked Platinum. These were always filled with a small percentage of Iridium to strengthen the Platinum. During service, we installed a NOS glass crystal which is what the watch would have had when new. The silver dial features applied 18k White Gold Arabic numerals with matching hands. The dial looks great with just minor signs of aging. Very good if you consider it’s 70 plus years old. Many of these have badly refinished dials, not the case with this one. The watch is powered by a signed Hamilton “Gold Medallion” movement, cal. 982 manual wind with 19 jewels – a beautifully finished movement and one of Hamilton’s very best. It comes fully serviced including a new mainspring and is keeping very good time. The case was completely disassembled and ultrasonically cleaned, but we did no polishing or refinishing. We thought it best to keep the finish as found. A new brownish Lizard strap has been installed, and this watch comes ready to wear.
