The twisted fluting guides the glaze down the piece, catching light as it rotates around the form. Either way, it's a bowl that looks as good empty on a counter as it does full on a table. Every Hammerly Ceramics piece is made by Curt and his team in his home studio near Denver, Colorado. Each design begins in 3D modeling software, is printed as a physical prototype, and used to create a custom plaster mold system. The HC logo is cast into the bottom of every mug alongside the year in which it was crafted. The cast pieces are then hand-cleaned, fired, glazed, and fired a final time in a computer-controlled gas kiln where the glazes come alive. The result is high-fired, glazed porcelain: strong, non-porous, and built to last.
