Barbie Fashionista Black Doll With Down Syndrome
Barbie Fashionista ! mattel partnered with ndssorg to give us this incredible new barbie doll! Barbie introduced the first-ever doll with Down syndrome, which won the Toy Association's Corporate Social Responsibility Initiative of the Year award. This year, in collaboration with the National Down Syndrome Society (NDSS), she is introducing a new racialized model. With a smaller build, a longer torso, and low muscle tone, the doll's palms have a single line, a characteristic often associated with people with Down syndrome. Special attention has been paid to the design of her face, with a more rounded shape, smaller ears, and a flat nose bridge. The eyes are slightly slanted and almond-shaped, with white dots visible in the iris.
