Region: Cutervo, Cajamarca, Peru Process: Washed Variety: Field Blend Altitude: 1800-2150 masl We Taste: Rainier Cherry, Nougat, Milk Chocolate This lot comes from multiple producers in the remote, high-altitude Cutervo region. The farmers in this area historically tended livestock, but often travelled to the regions of Jaen and San Ignacio to work as coffee pickers for additional income. Over time, they began to bring seeds back to their own plots and found that varieties like caturra, typica, and bourbon grew well in their cooler climate. Coffee is now a foundation of the agriculture for farmers here and we're excited to see how quality continues to develop in this newer region. In the cup we’re finding red fruits like cherry and apple, alongside nougat, brown sugar, and a creamy chocolate base.
