Cru Cairanne 2023 50% Grenache 30 % Syrah 20 % Mourvèdre Region: Rhône Valley ESTATE HISTORY Created in 1929, the cellar is situated in the heart of the Cru of the Meridional Vallee of the Rhône, in the Vaucluse region on the left bank of the Rhone. It is near the star appellations of Chateauneuf du Pape, Gigondas and Vacqueyras. TERROIR These wines come from the vinevards located on the Miocene hillsides, north of the village of Cairanne still called "Montagne du Ventabren". Erosion has pruned limestone pebbles with rare flint, alternating with marl. The vines are sloping, south-facing and well exposed to the sun. VITICULTURE Age of vines: 25 to 40 years WINEMAKING Traditional in concrete vats without heating the harvest. Cold pre- fermentation during 48 hours -De-levelling / Re-picking / punching down / every day during 6 weeks with a controlled temperature between 16° and 27°C. Maturing in concrete vats for 10 months. Very light sulphiting during bottling. No sulphur during vinification. 15% Alcohol TASTING & FOOD PAIRINGS Dark red colour with purple tints. Powerful nose with concentrated fruits (black cherries, blackcurrant) and spices (pepper, cinnamon and liquorice). Great intensity on the nose ; black cherry, blackberry, forest fruits. Spice. Earthiness. ful and concentrated, offering magnificent fruity and spicy aromas. The long and round finish with good mouthfeel is typical of the Cairanne appellation. Ideal for a slightly special dinner; duck breast, grilled piglet, roast pork, spicy turkey, bouffe bourguignon, roast beef and cheeses. Drink within 2 to 8 years after the harvest. Temperature : 17° to 18°C.
