Mid 20th Century Japanese Ceramic Sake Bottle (10)
This stunning piece is known as a Sake bottle and it originated in Japan, dating back to the Late Meiji era to the early Taisho era. This ceramic bottle would've held sake, a Japanese alcohol made from fermented rice, and could be bought at most stores. The vast majority of these bottles are crafted from kiln-fired clay, often finished with a feldspar glaze which gives the bottle an almost ivory/grey appearance.
