Glaze Mixing & Application 2026

This workshop is suitable for beginners to advanced potters. What you'll learn: What is Glaze? Composition and chemistry basics Types of glazes (Gloss, Matte, Transparent, opaque) tools and materials overview Health and Safety Demonstrations Brushing, Dipping, Pouring Techniques Layering methods and creating effects Hands on Practice Applying glaze to pre-fired ceramic pieces Experimenting with colour combinations Texture and decorative techniques The outcome of the workshop - Participants will leave with a selection of glazed pieces ( to be fired and collected later) and a solid foundation in glazing techniques. Dates - 8th July or 26th August 2026 - 10am-3:30pm, £110 Materials Provided Selection of Stoneware Glazes Brushes and Glazing tools Test tiles and bisque-fired pieces Protective equipment What to Bring Apron or old clothing Notebook and pen Any personal ceramic pieces (optional)
