Uogashi Meicha has two different Hon-Gyokuro produced in Uji and Yame regions. Although they are both classified into Hon-Gyokuro, concept of making tea varies according to each production area. If we described them in one word, we would choose "maturity" for Uji, and "freshness" for Yame. Aged tea leaves gives a mellow umami and aroma to tea produced in Uji. Thorough management of freshness provides tea produced in Yame with a pleasant aroma and umami. It is difficult to tell which of the two is better, so please try them and savor the difference in flavor.
