In 2023, he meticulously planted 4,500 Arara trees, a yellow-fruited variety celebrated globally for its vibrant fruit and incredible resilience. Within the region, this variety is whispered about as the ""Brazilian Geisha"" due to its sophisticated delicate flavour and refined elegance. On a recent trip to Brazil, we spent days traveling between estates, cupping countless coffees across various cupping tables. Despite the high quality of the region, we found ourselves constantly returning to this specific lot. As soon as we tasted the Arara, we fell in love immediately; its striking clarity and profound sweetness, paired with a layered fruit complexity, made it an absolute no-brainer for our collection. Processed carefully as a Natural and dried on a sun drenched patio for seven days, the final harvest yielded only 11 precious bags.
