About the Sigo Recorder While the recorder models typically played today are based on the ideas of historical instrument makers such as Rottenburgh, Denner, Kynseker, Bressan and others, Sigo goes its own way. Sigo is a recorder model series developed in collaboration by Kunath Instrumentenbau and Geri Bollinger, one of Europe's leading recorder makers. The Sigo tenor has almost the same grip width as a soprano (descant) recorder. As the Sigo bore is folded in on itself, the instrument sounds just as deep, even though it is shorter than a normal tenor recorder. The finger spacing, angled head joint, light weight, and thumb rest integrated into the design make Sigo particularly ergonomic. The body is made of RESONA, a material developed by Kunath Instrumentenbau from renewable raw materials. The density of RESONA is similar to that of rosewood. The head joint is made from plant-based resins. The 'Color' model has a green ring at the base of the head joint, which can be removed and interchanged with 11 other colored rings. This instrument is sold with a case, cork grease, care instructions, and a fingering chart.
