Black Sheaffer Snorkel Sovereign - medium point

When most people think of Sheaffer Snorkels they think of them with conical nibs. Of course those are the most distinctive Snorkels. Though Sheaffer did make at least 3 Snorkel models with standard nibs. The Sovereign is my personal favorite Snorkel. This pen has a medium nib that is engraved M3 beneath the imprint. The M indicates medium point and 3 a standard (not conical), 14k nib. I believe Sheaffer engraved nibs thus only on the Snorkels from the later generation after ~1955. The nib writes a generous, smooth and wet line. The pen is in perfect condition - this is no exaggeration. The metal cap has no dents, creases, lost plating or any other damage. Likewise, the barrel is perfectly unblemished. Length Capped - 141 mm (5.5”) Uncapped - 124 mm (4.9”) Posted - 163 mm (6.4”).
