Vintage Gordon's Fresh Foods Countertop Jar w/ Metal Lid

Item: Countertop Jar w/ Metal Lid Make: Unknown (likely USA) Model: Gordon's Fresh Foods Age: 1930s-1950s Construction: Glass, metal Dimensions: 8 3/4" Tall x 7 1/4" Diameter Condition: Excellent vintage condition. No cracks, two tiny fleabites on rim. A few minor dents in edge of lid, paint wear on lid commensurate with age and use. Please see photos. Details: Once a common sight at the local general or country store, these jars were a great way to advertise while dispensing candy or snacks. Large cylindrical clear glass wide-mouth jar with red enameled Gordon's Fresh Foods truck logo on one side. Red-painted metal with red plastic or bakelite knob. Lid has faint imprint of a 5-pointed star. Minor dents and loss of paint due to age and wear. Gordon's started out as a local egg and dairy delivery service in 1897, and is now the largest family-owned food distributor in the US.
