Botanical name: Coleus forskohlii, aka Coleus barbatus Ayurvedic name: Makandi Part used: Dried roots Ingredients: Dry Coleus roots, certified organic non-GMO cane alcohol, pure Adirondack water and non-GMO organic vegetable glycerin (not palm or soy). Percentage of alcohol used: 45% Ratio plant to menstruum: 1:3.5 Safety considerations: Avoid with insulin/hypoglycemic, hypotensive, anticoagulant and antiplatelet drugs. Stop 7-10 days before surgery. Not to be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Origin: India About: Coleus is a member of the mint family that grows in the lower foothills of India, Sri Lanka, Nepal and Thailand and has long been an important herb in Ayurvedic medicine, with a wide variety of traditional uses.
