Redken formulates this with what they call Curl-Bond Technology, and it comes down to three ingredients working on different problems. Citric Acid drives penetrative repair into the hair. Glycine helps promote collagen production to help prevent breakage. Urea, which appears in the ingredient list as Hydroxyethyl Urea, helps remove build-up and provides lasting hydration and moisture. The cleansing side is deliberately gentle. Instead of sulphates, the formula uses Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate, Decyl Glucoside and Cocamidopropyl Betaine, so it lifts residue without stripping the curl. Salicylic Acid is in there too, which is what helps clear build-up from the scalp itself. For softness and elasticity, the formula carries Persea Gratissima Oil (avocado oil) and Butyrospermum Parkii Butter (shea butter), both of which appear in the ingredient list. WHY CHOOSE REDKEN ACIDIC BONDING CURLS SHAMPOO? It is a bonding shampoo that is genuinely silicone-free, which is rare. Most bond repair ranges rely on silicones for slip. It cleanses properly. A lot of curl shampoos are so gentle that build-up accumulates. This one is designed to remove it. The results Redken publishes were measured on the full system, so it is built to work alongside the conditioner rather than as a standalone. Vegan, minimum 90% biodegradable, and the bottle is 94% recycled plastic. Pair it with the Redken Acidic Bonding Curls Conditioner.
