Dansons SA350H Compact Hydraulic Stand Assist – 350 lb Capacity
A stand assist is not a patient lift. It is designed for someone who can bear weight through their legs but lacks the strength to rise unaided. If the person cannot bear weight at all, a full-body patient lift is the correct equipment — call us on (866) 338-2838 and we will help you work out which you need. Dansons SA350H From seated to standing, without a battery The SA350H is Dansons Medical's hydraulic stand assist: a 350 lb capacity, a standing platform and adjustable cushioned knee pads, raised by a hand-pumped hydraulic cylinder. It brings a person from sitting to standing so they can be moved to a commode, a wheelchair or a chair — or simply repositioned to relieve pressure. Because it is hydraulic, there is nothing to charge and no rest period between transfers. The base closes to 23.1″ for doorways and opens to 29.8″ around a chair or commode — a notably tight footprint, which is the point of a compact stand assist. At 96 lb it ships by standard ground carrier rather than freight. Who it's for People with limited lower-extremity strength who can still bear weight. Common in home care and residential settings for commode transfers, dressing, and pressure relief — the routine daily movements that otherwise take two carers or risk a fall. Comfort Adjustable cushioned knee pads set to the individual, and a standing platform that gives the feet a stable base throughout. The person is supported rather than pulled, which matters when the same transfer happens several times a day. Where it fits A 23.1″ closed base clears standard interior doorways and opens to just 29.8″ — narrow enough to work in a bathroom, which is where most stand transfers actually happen. Hydraulic or electric Two builds of the same stand assist This is the hydraulic SA350H. The SA350 is the electric build — same frame, capacity and footprint, raised at the press of a button rather than by hand. Choose electric if the caregiver has limited strength or transfers happen many times a day. Choose hydraulic if you want nothing to charge and fewer things that can fail. An electronic upgrade kit converts this one to powered operation later, so the decision is not permanent. Ask us if you would like it quoted alongside the unit. Features 01 · Support & Footprint Platform underfoot, pads at the knee, narrow enough for a bathroom A standing platform gives the feet a stable base through the whole movement, and adjustable cushioned knee pads brace the shins so the person is supported rather than pulled upward by the arms. The pads adjust to the individual, which matters because the same unit used by two people at different heights will otherwise sit wrong on one of them. Stand transfers usually happen in the tightest room in the house. The base closes to 23.1″ to clear a standard doorway and opens to only 29.8″ — roughly four inches narrower than a full patient lift, which is the difference between fitting beside a toilet and not. Base legs run 32.1″, so it turns in a space where a longer machine would have to be reversed out. Standing platform Adjustable knee pads 23.1″ closed / 29.8″ open Ships ground, not freight 02 · Why Hydraulic Nothing to charge, nothing to wait for An electric unit runs a duty cycle — a limit on how long the motor can work before resting. Hydraulic has no such limit, and no battery to charge, run flat or replace. It works in a power cut and after months unused. The trade is effort: raising the boom is physical work on the pump handle, so consider who operates it day to day. A release knob controls the descent, and it needs a careful hand. No battery No duty cycle limit Works without power 03 · Sling & Attachment Deluxe padded sling, four sizes A BestSling Deluxe Padded Stand Assist Sling ships with the unit, in Small, Medium, Large or XXLarge Bariatric. A stand assist sling wraps the torso rather than cradling the whole body, so sizing is measured around the torso and getting it right matters more than on a full-body sling — too loose and it rides up under the arms. The 4-point spreader bar is standard. Free sling included Four sizes to bariatric 4-point spreader bar 04 · Safety & Working Limits Before you use it The person must be able to bear weight through their legs. A stand assist is not suitable for someone who cannot. Confirm suitability with the client's physician, nurse or occupational therapist before ordering. Maximum lifting capacity is 350 lb (160 kg). The slings are rated as high as 600 lb, but the unit's 350 lb rating always governs — ordering the bariatric sling does not raise the lift's capacity. The release knob controls descent speed. Lower slowly and under control; a fast descent risks injury. Read the owner's manual in full and practise the transfer before performing it on anyone. Inspect the sling for fraying, worn stitching or damaged straps before every use. Manufacturer's limited warranty covers defects in workmanship and product performance, applies to the original purchaser only, and excludes misuse, improper installation, neglect and normal wear. This equipment should be used in line with guidance from the client's physician, occupational therapist or other qualified healthcare professional.
