Padre Pio, born Francesco Forgione in 1887, was the son of poor Italian farmers. He became a Capuchin priest and eventually, an inspiration to millions. As Pope Paul VI explained: “He said Mass humbly, heard confessions from morning until night and was a marked representative of the stigmata of Our Lord.
