A beautiful original antique silver-plated wedding cake stand, dating to the late Victorian / Edwardian era (circa 1880–1910). This is a large, generous example — a 14" (36cm) diameter mirrored top plate standing 7" (18cm) tall. The classic waisted mirror-plateau form is hand-engraved with floral and scroll cartouches, finished with beaded borders, a bevelled mirror top and four cast scroll feet.This was the traditional way to present a grand tiered wedding cake, and these antique plateaus are hugely popular again for weddings, styled shoots and statement dessert tables.Complete with its original vintage wooden carrying box, hand-labelled “Bride Cake Stand” — a wonderful piece of history and the perfect way to store and transport the stand.
