Nepenthes Ventricosa aka Carnivorous Pitcher Plant

The Nepenthes Ventricosa aka carnivorous pitcher plants have elongated hour glass shaped pitchers with a large mouths that range in colors from light green to burgundy. The pitchers form with closed lids until they are ready to eat, then the top opens emitting a pheromone while making a liquid inside the pitchers which insects thinking they will get a drink. The bottle shape makes it difficult for insects to leave and they are eventually dissolved by the plants juices. Pitcher plants thrive in a humid warm brightly lit environment keeping its soil somewhat moist. These plants are grown in a 4” pot. Pictures are of actual plants available your plant will be chosen from. Dark marks on leaves are remnants of substrate. All plants are grown outside therefore leaves may show some environmental imperfections.
