Cartier Tortue WGTO0008 Platinum Limited Edition (200 Pieces) - Full Set
The Cartier Tortue was designed by Louis Cartier in 1912 as the brand's third wristwatch case, distinguished by its graceful, tortoise-inspired curved silhouette. Originally introduced as a simple time-only model, it later became one of Cartier's most celebrated platforms for high complications, including monopusher chronographs and minute repeaters. Released at Watches And Wonders in '24 the Privé Tortue is a limited edition of just 200 individually numbered pieces worldwide. This example is housed in the most noble of metals - platinum. It features a finely grained dial with applied silver Cartier Roman numerals and white gold Breguet style hands that hark back to the early models. The case is slightly boosted in proportion but works well for a wide range of wrist sizes. This example comes to us directly from the original owner and remains complete down to its original purchase receipt. It has some signs of use but we can offer to touch up the watch prior to shipping if the next owner so chooses. For anyone looking for a practical modern dress watch that draws well from its past heritage, this model has a nice heft making it feel special on wrist but still flies under the radar.
