Shade-grown, first-harvest tencha is slowly stone-milled for a silky whisk, creamy body and vibrant green cup. Tasting Profile Sweet umami, fresh young greens and a smooth, creamy body. Subtle notes of steamed spinach and tender nori lead to a lingering honeyed finish with low bitterness. Origin & Craft Japan | Typical tea elevations: 300 to 2,000 ft The tea plants are shaded for several weeks before harvest to deepen color, sweetness and umami. Tender first-harvest leaves are hand-plucked, steamed to prevent oxidation, dried and de-stemmed into tencha, then slowly stone-milled into an ultra-fine powder. Composition 100% matcha Made from single-cultivar and select-cultivar blends of shade-grown, first-flush tencha chosen for aroma, color, sweetness and a balanced finish. How to Prepare Sift 2g, about 1 teaspoon, into a bowl. Add 2 to 3 oz of water heated to 160 to 175°F. Avoid boiling water. Whisk briskly in a zigzag motion until smooth and frothy. Enjoy traditionally, or add water or milk and serve hot or over ice. Size: 54g tube, approximately 27 servings when prepared with 2g per serving.
