There was a time when I stood on this street with no clear idea of who I would become. As a student, I walked past the Chicago Theatre almost every day. The city moved around me while I searched for direction, purpose, and a sense of belonging. Years later, when I looked back, I realised that these streets had quietly shaped me in ways I never understood at the time. This artwork is not a recreation of Chicago. It is a recreation of memory. The street transforms into a stage where imagination takes over. A royal procession moves through downtown, a bride runs towards her own story, and characters from different worlds come together in a celebration of the narratives that influenced me. Reality blends with cinema, history, and nostalgia to create a place that exists somewhere between memory and dream. For me, this piece is an expression of gratitude. Gratitude for the city that witnessed my uncertainties, my growth, and ultimately the discovery of my artistic voice.
