Memoirs of the Last Soviet Girl

I belong to the last generation of Soviet children: we still managed to catch the Young Pioneers, the Communist Party congresses, and morning calisthenics on the radio. Then came Perestroika. The plans were grand, the hopes were radiant, and the store shelves were empty. All across the Soviet country, the first shoots of wild capitalism were pushing their way through the concrete. All of this happened before my eyes, and I feel it is my solemn duty to report to future generations what really happened and how it all actually worked. Otherwise, our descendants will start making films and writing books about our era and, naturally, they will get everything wrong. This book is made up of short stories, and I keep adding to it little by little whenever I remember another funny or especially revealing episode. But the first chapters are already available to read.
