The ring cutter is designed for soft metals such as gold and silver, which covers most wedding bands. Harder metals like stainless steel and titanium are beyond it, so those cases still go to the workshop cutter. Can the shears be sharpened? Yes. The straight cutting edge takes standard sharpening tools at a 32 degree inclusive angle, 16 degrees per side.
