JAVA FRINSA ESTATE WEST JAVA, INDONESIA Dried Papaya, Yellow Pear, Tobacco Java Frinsa comes from Java Frinsa Estate in the Bandung Highlands of West Java, Indonesia. The estate is run by the Mustofa family, with son Fikri now stepping into a leading role alongside his parents — carrying the farm into its next generation. Frinsa was founded in 2012 to help stabilize highland areas affected by landslides and deforestation. That mission is still at the farm’s core today — coffee grown under shade trees, pulp turned into fertilizer, and nothing from the harvest going to waste. This lot is wet hulled, a processing method that started in Sumatra and has become a hallmark of Indonesian coffee. In this processing method, the parchment is removed while the seed has a significantly higher moisture content than traditional processing methods. This gives wet-hulled coffees their signature earthiness and flavors of dried fruit and spice. This vibrant coffee presents the sweetness of Dried Papaya, the brightness of Yellow Pear, and an anchoring note of Tobacco.
