2024 Karim Vionnet 'Beur Blanc' Chardonnay

Place: Beaujolais, France Variety: Chardonnay Farming: Organic Born to Algerian parents, Karim was adopted as a child by the Vionnets in Morgon. He has worked with the region’s greats—Lapierre, Breton, Foillard—as a vineyard- and cellar-hand, as well as assistant winemaker. He alongside his daughter Noemie now farm 5ha across Beaujolais-Villages, Chiroubles, Chenas and Fleurie. ‘Beur Blanc’ is his take on Beaujolais Chardonnay—hand-harvested from old vines and made with a light touch. It is both fresh and quietly generous: citrus, pear and white peach sit over a soft almond note and a gentle mineral edge. The palate is supple but lifted, with a silky texture balanced by bright acidity and a long, clean finish. Chardonnay with both charm and clarity.
