The Salt Yard, Halifax Waterfront

The sketch captures it from the courtyard of the Salt Yard on the Halifax Waterfront, where colourful bunting strings between the buildings and red-canopied tables fill with people enjoying a quick bite in the sunshine. In the foreground, guests settle into the patio seating while others pass through, drawn by the smell of food and the easy hum of a busy Halifax afternoon. At the back of the courtyard, the Salt Yard Social's upper deck looks out over the scene, its signage bright against the sky. To the left, Caffe Lucca's warm yellow facade and chalkboard menu anchor the corner, a beloved neighbourhood cafe that has become a fixture of the waterfront experience. Trees frame the courtyard on either side, softening the scene and giving it the feel of a hidden urban garden right on the water's edge.
