We have been closely following this specific variety for a long time, evaluating numerous auction samples over the years. and now we are finally bringing it to our roastery in Tokyo. CGLE17 is an exclusive, original variety developed by Café Granja La Esperanza, created by crossing Geisha with Caturra. While it is a hybrid, its flavor profile is overwhelmingly driven by the Geisha genetics. In fact, we can confidently say this is the absolute best Geisha-cross hybrid we have ever tasted. The cup retains strong, classic Geisha characteristics but introduces a beautifully soft, peach-like body. It features a profoundly clean jasmine florality, brilliantly highlighted by a vibrant, sparkling ginger ale note reminiscent of a great Sydra. It is a truly remarkable coffee—powerful, yet elegantly soft.
