Austen Tayshus is coming to Forster for one huge night as part of his national 43rd Anniversary of “Australiana” Tour. Since exploding onto the Australian comedy scene in the early 1980s, Austen Tayshus has become a genuine cultural icon. His legendary spoken-word comedy single Australiana went to number one, achieved double-platinum sales and remains one of the most famous comedy recordings in Australian history. Four decades later, he remains as fearless, unpredictable and outrageously funny as ever. Expect razor-sharp observations, rapid-fire wordplay, brilliant storytelling and the provocative, completely unfiltered live comedy that has made Austen Tayshus one of Australia’s most enduring performers. And because we’re taking it all the way back to 1983, this is an Australian dress-up night! Pull out your best retro Aussie look — think footy shorts, mullets, double denim, terry-towelling hats, zinc cream, flannies and anything gloriously Australian from the era.
