During your Carnaval experience in Santa Catarina Minas, you’ll experience: 🥃 Begin with ancestral mezcal at a family palenque Start the day with clay pot distillation, guided tastings, and traditional bites that help ground the celebration in local mezcal culture. 🎭 Understand the meaning before the festival builds Learn how Carnaval in Minas reflects renewal, satire, seasonal change, and shared identity, so you enter the evening with context rather than just observation. 🎺 Step into the celebration from within a community Move through the plaza alongside the community as bands circulate, painted participants gather, fireworks rise, and the energy of Carnaval takes over the town. 🌮 Share the flavors and rhythm of the night Pause for local street food during the festivities and experience the celebration as neighbors do, through gathering, movement, and shared atmosphere. This is a fixed-date small-group departure that happens only once each year on Martes de Carnaval. Group size is intentionally limited to maintain a respectful presence within the celebration.
