Mapei Primer X Fast-Drying Textured Primer Primer X is a fast-drying, high-performance, low-VOC, water-based acrylic primer, textured to boost adhesion of self-leveling underlayments over nonporous substrates — most notably 100%-solids epoxy moisture barriers. Where a standard primer might struggle to bond an SLU to a slick epoxy membrane, Primer X is built specifically to close that gap. Dries in 1 to 2 hours depending on job-site conditions.
