Summer Insect

Cicadas can spend seventeen years underground and emerge for only one month in the summer. Like the cicada, our time on earth is limited. We emerge like a wave from the sea to experience life. But just as a cicada doesn't know about spring or fall, we don't know the wonders that have come before or after we are gone. Our lives are only one season in the symphony of the universe — both precious and fleeting, and part of an infinite song.
