No return promenade

The image is built as a compact passage within a larger ochre structure. Broad planes of gold, pale grey and soft pink hold a luminous door, while a small tree retains the suggestion of a landscape. The shallow spatial construction makes the image feel both enclosed and open, as a scene held at a distance. Within the Apocalypse body of work, Lima uses omission and partial legibility to let a landscape persist as an atmospheric remainder.
