Its original functionality was meant to encourage natural, biomechanical movement. A seamless upper, inspired by natural membranes, acts as a second skin to deliver natural flexing with lightweight support. The original shoe's upper infuses a unique, yet functional design language, creating an intricate pattern with visual depth and interest. Various design, colour, and material details are also inspired by Asics' internal archive. The original tooling was modified to the system from the Gel-Cumulus 16 shoe. The sneaker's soft cushioning properties are left intact.
