Glen Helen — Hand-Dyed Wool Roving

Glen Helen was created as the official show colorway for The Wool Gathering at Young’s in Yellow Springs, Ohio, inspired by the colors and textures of nearby Glen Helen Nature Preserve. This colorway captures that moment when the forest begins its transition toward fall: brilliant yellow-green and mossy olive move through golden yellow and warm ochre, grounded by weathered stone gray and deep woodland brown. The palette was drawn from sunlit leaves, moss-covered rock, exposed earth and the limestone-lined streams that wind through the preserve. On roving, those colors become especially dimensional. Long stretches of green and gold give way to earthy neutrals and stone, creating beautiful possibilities at the wheel. Spin directly from the braid for organic color transitions, divide it to create repeating sequences, or separate the colors to control where those bold greens and autumn golds appear in your finished yarn.
