Mix it Up, Weaving on a Gourd with Jane Wilson
Friday, February 19, 2027 Saturday, February 20, 2027 12:00 PM – 4:00 PM Length: 6″, Width: 6″, Height: 6″ Prerequisites: None Learn to use several weaving techniques to create a piece of art. On a hard-shell gourd, you’ll combine knotless netting, couching, beading, and open/closed coiling. With these techniques, you can create simple or elaborate weaving. You will be able to choose from several color combinations of painted, pre-finished gourds, hand-dyed cord, thread, and beads. You don’t need to know how to weave to take this class. The first day of class you will learn to open and close coil and add beads to the design. The second day of class you will learn to knotless net to a couched row of cord. Materials supplied: drill bit, needle, tiger tape, 5″ to 6” ready-to-weave gourd, waxed linen cord, hand-dyed cord, beads, mini awl and step by step color photo instructions. Tools needed: Drill, awl, scissors, pencil, apron
