Over 3/4" (0.81”) height. Gilt bronze, shaped as a duck's foot with three toes, the center one prominent. A burial at Fyrkat, near Hobro Denmark contained the body of a woman of wealth and status buried with henbane seeds, which have hallucinogenic properties, and a wand as well as other objects. From these, it was concluded that she was a seeress or sorceress. The grave contained a necklace hung with three duck feet pendants very similar to this. Professionally refurbished with 24karat gold overlay restored and mounted on an 18” modern gilt sterling silver neck chain for contemporary wear. Jewelry gift boxed with certification of authenticity.
