Natural Colour Variation Please note that Spanish beeswax is naturally darker in colour than some other European waxes. The rich golden to dark amber appearance is a normal characteristic of the wax and reflects its natural origin, the floral sources visited by the bees and the way the wax has been processed. The darker colour is not an indication of poor quality and does not affect bee acceptance or comb building. Bees readily draw out this foundation under suitable nectar flow and colony conditions.
