Antique Cotton Embroidered Bloomers
Antique Cotton Embroidered Bloomers Antique white cotton bloomers dating to the mid-late 19th century. Originally worn beneath dresses and petticoats, these bloomers are cut with a generous and airy divided leg silhouette. The softly gathered drawstring waistband in back allows for an adjustable fit, while each leg is finished with a narrow crocheted lace edging that lends a light, feminine finish. Above the hem, hand-worked floral embroidery is executed in satin stitch. Amazingly, these bloomers retain an original maker's tag which adds to the historical provenance of this piece. Measurements Length: 26" from top of waist to hem Waist: Flexible due to drawstring ties, best to 30" Sizing: Best fits XS/Small Details Era: Mid/Late 19th century Condition: Wearable vintage condition, only lacework shows wear/damage though can be repaired for the skilled sewer by tacking back onto the hem Label: None Fabric: Cotton Our heirlooms are genuine vintage/antique articles and small signs of age & wear are to be expected.
