Superb Knowles Sterling Silver Pasta Server circa 1880

Presented is a very fine quality sterling silver pasta or macaroni server made by the Knowles Manufacturing Company in the United States, circa 1880. The front is beautifully engraved with two baby chicks and a small wooden bucket of water. The bowl features a matte finish with light gold wash and is nicely hand engraved throughout. On the back, the piece displays the Knowles company hallmark, the word sterling, and a retailer's mark. There is evidence of probable monogram removal on the backside of the handle, though this is not entirely certain. Condition: There are no breaks, no dents, no repairs, no monograms, and no other problems. Length: 9 1/4 inches Weight: 72 grams or 2.5 ounces
