You will not get any additional performance by turning down one field to try and overpower another. However, if you have a situation where you want to limit the speed at which the cart can be used, make sure you pick one of those up with this controller. The Navitas 440-Amp is a severe upgrade from OEM; you don't have to change anything else out, but if you want to, please do not hesitate; it will not hurt anything. Consider a solenoid and a set of cables at the least, and a forward and reverse would not cramp anyone's style either. This golf car controller is a plug-and-play application thanks to the harness adaptor included with the kit.
