Cy Vase Max: Hermes Floating

A running figure stretches in white relief across the amber and rust surface of this ceramic vase by Gianfranco Briceño, with dark glazed areas breaking through at the rim and foot. The pierced openings at the neck and the heavily worked, molten edges are part of the high temperature process. Handmade in engobes, oxides, and glazes through Briceño's high temperature firing. Briceño is a Peruvian ceramicist, sculptor, painter, and photographer based in São Paulo, Brazil who uses themes of masculinity and sexuality in his multidisciplinary practice.
