Honduras Lucia Estate Gesha

An entirely organic lot of coffee from the people over at Lucia Estate. This is our first Gesha release in a while and our first from the Honduras ever. It certainly reflects its more unique position in our line up in the cup. We get the classic layered gesha florals with jasmine and magnolia on the initial sip with an evolving floral presentation as you get to the after taste reminiscent of plumeria which then finishes with what we can best place as rose. Now reflecting the more atypical origin for this gesha , we get a lot of red and dark fruits in this cup aswell reminiscent of tart rose hips on the initial sip then transitioning into juicy blackberries and other dark fruits in the middle and the finish. White grape follows through the entire experience rendering a soft juiciness to the brew with honey bush tea rounding the cup out. His new farm, Santa Lucia Reserve, is certified organic and a habitat for many birds, including his favorite the Toucan.This farm employs around 75 pickers during coffee harvest season and 15 permanent workers that live on the farm with their families. As a socially conscious coffee producer, Raul pays his workers the highest salaries in the region. This year, he will donate part of his profits from all of his direct sales to help rebuild the local school that is in dire need of a kitchen and electricity.
