"Graphic Detail" - Daniel David Freeman

The second edition of this zine by London-based artist Daniel David Freeman (DDF), featuring works presented in his exhibition "Graphic Detail". Packed with his passion and energy throughout, this edition features a slightly revised page layout and includes several new works not found in the first edition. This book includes works created using a variety of techniques, such as screen prints, drawings, paintings, digital images. The works feature multiple layers of past images and various references. At first glance, they might seem familiar, but as the layers accumulate, their original meaning and image gradually change. This act of "layering" is not only a production technique but also DDF's thought process. The works can be seen as a record of images born from the accumulation of time. Images of people also appear frequently, but they are not portraits of specific individuals. They are characters that lack a clear personality, appearing somewhat futuristic, like human or non-human beings. DDF envisions a fictional world where these images might be posters in a spaceship's locker room or art adorning the walls of a bar where future humanoids gather. He is also interested in the question of "how art can exist in society." One possibility is clothing. By incorporating images into clothing, the artwork expands beyond the gallery and moves through the city and daily life.
