It is the perfect oud for people discovering oud, or people who prefer smooth oils that avoid any strong potentially "divisive" notes (those that can be love or hate depending on personal tastes and cultural contexts) The olfactive journey The opening already announces the whole olfactive journey in a nutshell : marmelade, apricot, orange, baked apple pie and tea notes with a very discrete cool minty understone weaving under the sweet fruits. A little while later, a touch of soft suede and warm clean fur also appear behing the fruit symphony. The fruits will unfold for a couple of hours in majestic gourmand présence, adding red and black berries jam notes, and the previously mentioned, to the gourmandise. Pure delightful sweet opulence. The soft and warm suede and fur notes are very gentle : the oil doesn't have any strong or divise animalic notes, so it is absolutely appropriate for people who discover ouds and for western social contexts. At some stages, nice incensy notes (wood chips on low heat) come to join the dance. After that, the oil progressively transforms to let the famous "Pursat cool" come to the forefront, nicely balanced with the sweetness, and at times merging with the suede as "minted suede" for a few hours, before very slowly coming center stage. Those familair with high-end Pursat oils, will know this signature cool facet quite well. For others, it is hard do describe : fresh, invigorating, green, minty and round could do it in a nutshell, though there could be other ways to describe it In the later drydown notes of marzipan and orange peel also nicely appear. Sweet fragrant traces remained the next day after a good night of sleep, H+22.
