Mehendi green zari checked silk saree

A deep mehendi-green body glows with an old-gold warmth, laid out in fine zari checks with golden mangai buttas rising between the squares like leaves caught in a lattice. Framing it on either side is a retta pettu border — twin bands of zari laid one beside the other in traditional yaali and creeper detail, doubled in the measure only the patient looms still keep. The pallu opens into a rich monotone expanse, its gold brocade unfurling in jewelled squares and temple bands, glowing tone-on-tone against the green. A matching blouse completes this heirloom.
