Print – The Future of Biocultural Diversity
What does the future of biocultural diversity look like? These three print issues of Langscape Magazine suggest that the future is already taking shape in the lives, values, and actions of people and communities around the world — especially Indigenous youths. As young Indigenous people reconnect with their ancestral languages, traditions, cultural practices, and links to the land, they are helping to revitalize their traditional knowledge before it is lost. These issues advocate for relationships with each other and nature that are rooted in the Indigenous principles of Reverence, Respect, and Reciprocity. Our hopes are that this collection reveals that the future of biocultural diversity is already here, being rooted and restored, with the seeds carried forward into a more just, equitable, and sustainable world in which nature, language, and culture can thrive.
