Paul Hermann Salmon Reel

A scarce Dr. Paul Hermann Salmon fly reel, 3 3/16" diameter and set up for LHW. Near mint condition with just a faint touch of cosmetic wear to the frame edges in a couple of spots but very clean overall. It could not have been fished much. Polished aluminum rims with black sideplates, all done in the classic S-handle design. 1 1/4" spool width and the reel weighs 12 ounces on my scale. Serial number "174" which is stamped into the underside of the foot crossbar. Mechanically excellent with a powerful Bogdan-style drag system with a 1.9:1 multiplying retrieve. The drag is adjusted via a 7 position dial on the backplate. There is some dacron backing currently loaded on the reel. It also comes in a superb Arne Mason leather block case. An entirely benchmade reel down to the screws, Dr Hermann made just a little over 200 of these salmon models. *** Please note that we are requesting that the buyer pay for this item via a check or bank wire - please select this option if you use our website checkout and we will follow up with the details.
