Kościół św. Mikołaja, Nowa Ruda, Poland
The grand parish church of St. Nicholas in Nowa Ruda (formerly Neurode), a one-time coal-mining town in the mountains of Lower Silesia, houses one of the finest organs in the region. Built in 1890 by Schlag & Söhne of Świdnica, it is the largest mechanical-action instrument the firm ever made before moving over to pneumatic action. Warm Romantic foundations are balanced by bright, clear mixtures in the Hauptwerk and Oberwerk, giving a surprisingly transparent sound that suits a wide range of repertoire. The sample set restores two original 4' stops that had been altered over the years while keeping their later 2' replacements too, extends the compass to C-a3 in the manuals and C-f1 in the pedal, and adds modelled tremulants for every manual. Released: 4 October 2026 Producer: Piotr Grabowski Location: Nowa Ruda, Poland Organ builder: Schlag & Söhne (1890) Stops: 52 Manuals: 3 + pedal Website: https://piotrgrabowski.pl/nowa-ruda/
