Ylang Ylang, Extra Essential Oil (Madagascan)

Essential Oil | Cananga odorata var. genuina Ylang ylang (Cananga odorata var. genuina) is steam distilled from the flowers of a tropical tree native to Southeast Asia and the Pacific islands, and the oil is produced in a series of fractional distillation cuts taken at different stages of the process. Extra is the first fraction to come over and represents the finest, most delicate expression of the oil: lighter, creamier, and more nuanced than the later cuts, with the richness and character that makes ylang ylang one of the great floral naturals in fine perfumery. The other grades are useful, but Extra is what you reach for when the oil needs to be the star.
